What is a credit?
HoliVed credits are the platform's internal currency. Every AI-powered analysis — a Cosmic Blueprint reading, a Vastu room transformation, an Ayurvedic constitution analysis — costs a specific number of credits. The cost reflects each feature's computational intensity: a quick text-based analysis costs less, a deep multimodal image diagnosis costs more.
The system is designed to be transparent: every feature's credit cost is displayed directly on the button before you start the analysis. No hidden fees, no surprise charges, and no AI call ever runs without your confirmation.
How to get credits
Three ways:
1. Automatic monthly renewal (subscription)
Every HoliVed tier comes with an automatically renewing monthly credit allowance:

2. Top-up packs (one-time purchase)
When your monthly allowance runs short, you can purchase additional credits as a one-time payment:

3. Promotional credits
We occasionally grant promotional credits (such as a signup bonus). These follow the terms of the specific campaign — typically resetting alongside the monthly tier allowance, unless the campaign states otherwise.
Renewal cycle
Your subscription's monthly credit allowance aligns with your signup anniversary day. If you signed up on January 15, 2026, a new cycle begins and your allowance refreshes on the 15th of each month. This is independent of the calendar month.
Monthly credits do not accumulate. Any unused portion of your monthly allowance is forfeited at the start of the new cycle.
The reasoning: monthly allowances are designed for steady use. Allowing them to accumulate would create uneven consumption patterns and complicate billing. If you consistently exceed your allowance, upgrading your tier is the answer; if it's occasional, a top-up pack covers it.
This does not apply to top-up credits — those never expire.

The cost reflects the underlying compute requirement: Room Scan (5 credits) generates a new image, which is an order of magnitude more resource-intensive than a text-based analysis (1–2 credits).
What happens when you run out of credits?
When you click a feature button and don't have enough credits:
- The credit indicator on the button turns red — a visual warning before you even click.
- Clicking does not start the analysis and does not deduct anything.
- A dialog appears with two options:
- Top Up — buy an additional credit pack for the current analysis
- Upgrade Plan — move to a higher tier if your allowance regularly falls short
Your account remains fully usable: you can access your previous analyses, change your settings, view your profile. Only new AI analyses pause until you top up.
We never charge anything without your confirmation.
Cancellation and refunds
Subscription cancellation
You can cancel your subscription anytime on the Account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle — you keep using tier features and the monthly allowance until then.
What happens to my credits after cancellation?

Top-up refunds (EU consumer right)
Under EU consumer law, top-up purchases carry a 14-day right of withdrawal on unused credit. If you request a refund within 14 days of the purchase and any portion of those top-up credits is still untouched, we refund the proportional unused amount.
The right of withdrawal lapses once the top-up pack is fully consumed, even if that happens within the 14-day window. This follows the standard treatment of immediately-consumed digital content under EU Directive 2011/83/EU.

Frequently asked questions
Can I share credits with family members?
No. Credits are tied to a single account. The multi-profile feature does let you manage multiple family members' birth profiles within one account (Free: 1, Starter: 3, Pro and Founding: 5 profiles) — but the credit allowance is shared across the account.
What happens if I change tiers mid-cycle?
On upgrade (e.g., Starter → Pro): the new tier's monthly allowance activates immediately. On downgrade: the new, lower allowance starts at your next anniversary — the higher allowance stays until then.
Do I get my credit back if an analysis fails or returns an error?
If a technical failure prevents the analysis from completing (API timeout, empty response, malformed output), credits are refunded automatically. If you're unhappy with the quality or content of the output, write to support@holived.com — we review case by case and compensate where appropriate.
Why do some features cost more credits than others?
The cost mirrors both the underlying compute load and the external services involved:
- A simple AI call (Health Map, Cure base) → 1 credit
- An AI call combined with an external Vedic data service like Prokerala (Cosmic Blueprint, Auspicious Moment, Past Day Reading, Saturn's Passage) → 2 credits
- A multimodal AI analysis with image input (Diagnose, Floor Plan) → 3 credits
- An AI image generation (Room Scan) → 5 credits
This way the system stays fair: lighter features don't cost as much as heavier ones, and features that depend on additional services or generate images cover their true cost.
How do I check my current credit balance?
Your current balance is visible in the navbar at all times. A detailed transaction log (when you used how many credits on what) is in the Subscription section of your Account page.
Does the Founding Member's 150 credits also reset every month?
Yes. The Founding Member benefit is that this 150 credits per month renews for the lifetime of your active account, with a single $249 payment. No monthly or annual fee.
What does the Free tier's "monthly renewing allowance" mean?
Every Free user gets a small monthly credit allowance per module (Astro, Health, Space) to try the platform. Current amounts are on the pricing page.
What happens to leftover monthly credits at the end of the cycle?
Unused monthly tier credits expire at the end of the cycle (on your anniversary day) — they don't carry over. Top-up credits, by contrast, never expire.
